Ancient pre-human males stayed home while the females struck out to "find their fortune,' so to speak.? Like chimpanzees, males died in the general area where they grew up, but the females tended to migrate.? The males may have grouped to protect what they perceived to be their territory.
Key in the research was "strontium," an element found in soil that moves from plants to smaller animals to humans.
