(AP) ? Patrick Chan of Canada has won the figure skating world title for the second consecutive year despite a couple of errors in his free skate.

He is the first man to win consecutive titles since the now retired Stephane Lambiel of Switzerland in 2006.

Japanese skaters Daisuke Takahashi and Yuzuru Hanyu took the silver and bronze medals.

Chan skated the first part of Saturday's program to the haunting sounds of Joaquin Rodriguez's "Concierto de Aranjuez", then abandoned his double axel jump late and fell. He had earlier wobbled slightly on one landing, but did enough despite Takahashi's season's best.
